Tissue sampling
Assess targeting and give tissue measurements anatomical context, accounting for uncertainty in where the biopsy sampled.
How likely were you to sample the target?
Estimate the probability of sampling an MRI-defined lesion or surrounding tissue at each position along the core.
- Retrospective targeting QA
- Assess likely target coverage along a core and compare sampling across biopsies.
- Guidance and optimization
- Compare candidate paths using the same sampling model. Preliminary work translates selected paths into ultrasound maps.
- Tissue analysis
- Give pathology and molecular measurements spatial context when specimen positions can be matched.
Interpretation. These probabilities describe sampling of imaging-defined structures, not the probability of cancer.
