Biopsy dosimetry
Map dose along the specimen to assess dose criteria and study tissue response, accounting for uncertain sampling position.
A small shift can change the assigned dose.
Map plausible biopsy positions to the planned dose field. Compare tissue regions with similar or contrasting dose, while retaining uncertainty in the assignment.
Study scope. The first study examines two contrasting cores. Assigned dose is not an independent measurement of dose delivered to the tissue.
Does the dose criterion still hold?
Test whether the biopsy meets a dose criterion across plausible locations. Use its pass probability to distinguish robust results from those sensitive to sampling position.
Interpretation. These margins describe the robustness of biopsy dose assessment, not recommended treatment-dose increases.

Reconstruct dose with spatial context.
Use the relationship between neighbouring positions to estimate dose along each core and predict withheld segments. The profile provides dose context for studying tissue response.
Interpretation. Narrower uncertainty bands describe the estimated dose profile, not more certain knowledge of the biopsy's physical location.
